Welcome to Peas on Earth, South Africa. Wonderful name, isn’t it? So wonderful, in fact, that it is not original and we would like to thank Ruby at peasonearth.co.ca for her lovely email of support and peasonearth.com for at least having not noticed us yet.
Peas on Earth came to be when my husband and I bought a small-holding on the Wild Coast of South Africa in June 2008. On this six-hectare small-holding bought in June 2008, we are growing, as naturally and organically as possible, vegetables, herbs and fruit, in addition to providing a home for a growing number of pets and farm animals. We also have a small trading store – very typical and authentic to Africans, very old-fashioned to Europeans!
We have a number of outlets for our range of vegetables, salads and herbs, primarily organic restaurants and markets, although we also try to meet the wider local demand for good quality, fresh fruit and veg.
We are also producing a small selection of jams, chutneys and preserves for sale within the local area.
There are only a couple of us working on all these things, and this website is being squeezed in when opportunity allows for it, so please be patient as this site is very much under construction.
