In order to boost the health of our land and vegetables, as well as for their own individual contributions to the farm, Peas on Earth have a range of domestic birds and animals on the farm. These include chickens, bantams, ducks and pigs. Volunteers choosing this as one of their areas of interest will participate in the following:
Basic poultry care – feeding, cleaning out coop, deworming etc.
Breeding – Peas on Earth utilise astrological farming techniques with regard to our chicken breeding programme, as well as in all aspects of our vegetable production.
Pigs – basic care (including feeding, deworming)
Pigs – land management and participation in crop rotation
Pigs - breeding, care of pregnant sows, piglets, boars etc.
